The Witcher 3 – Master Marksman & Humpty Dumpty (Dual Guide at The Devil’s Pit)

When I went here the people stood in the air after dying 

I already cleared this area is there a similar area to get both these
trophies?

You can’t call this a hitbox! That’s merely a shitbox! I just hate this
trophy, why would you put such an achievement in a game with a completely
broken hitbox?

Is Master Markman glitch or what? I counted on paper 50 head shot cam
shake. The throphy did not pop and now pass 60 kills & still dont have the
trophy. What the Hell is wrong with the trophy???

They could have put a tucking achievement tracker in be game so you can at
least know if you are making progress. Worst designed achievement ever

This worked for me. AXII the human and when he bows his head, Shoot him in
the head from the front.

This is the hardest the witcher 3 archievement/trophy in my opinion…

Yeah, they run right through that gate for me. No invisible
gate/fence/wall. :/

hardest trophy to get cause of the stupid hitbox.

Alright at least I’m not the only one. Didn’t know about the shakiness but
I’ve killed so many people that it shouldn’t matter. They should have a
stats section or something where you can check to see if it’s actually
registering headshots because this is the most frustrating trophy for me so
far. (other than completing all of the witcher contracts because my Royal
Wyvern is inside & underneath the cliff making it impossible to do…)

FINALLY! Got the stupid marksman trophy. I did it exactly this way, and
jumped from ~100xp to 586xp. Each kill is 2xp and each time you do it
there’s 9 guys, so I had to do 27 trips back and forth from Vizima and
killed 243 people to get 50 fucking headshots. Brutal ass trophy, took me
about 3 hours with all the loading.

Finally got the Master Marksman one. Took about two hours of grinding. That
one sucks big time.

I’m quite sure the arrow drops when you shoot so I think it’s better to aim
just above their head and not right on with the reticle.

Screen shake aint cause it was a critical hit?

I’ve found that aiming for their right eye (towards your left) seems to be
the sweet spot. I seem to get a head shot every time I hit them in that
spot.Hope this helps.

been doing the trophy for like 3 days..still no luck..

this FKN STUPID trophy is bugged on 1.07 i killed 100 no (50) and still
nothing

Guys you don’t need to grind for 4 hours, I got this in 1 hour by doing the
following:

1) Set the difficulty to easiest, it means you only need three hits
2) Put all you skills into the crossbow tree, I used the Ursine crossbow
but any decent one should do
3) Use the method above to attract the enemies to the gate
4) THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP. Upgrade your Thunderbolt potion to the
Superior Thunderbolt potion. This gives you 100% critical hit chance
throughout its duration. Activate this before you start hitting the enemies
in the head and I assure you, the screen will shake and count as a head
shot EVERY time.
5) Rinse and repeat until you get the trophy, there are 7/8 enemies each
time you spawn there so 7/8 times should do it!

Please give a thumbs up so others can see this and not have to grind for a
stupid amount of time. Upgrade your thunderbolt potion before head shots!

To make it easier lower difficulty to just story. Then two shots to body
and one to the head 

This trophy can go to hell. If you are going to implement such a challenge,
at least give us the proper gameplay mechanics to actually land headshots.
Not this random bullshit. Seriously, one of the most awful trophies I’ve
ever come across.

i have every other trophy and I’ve been grinding this for fucking hours :(

After 9+ hours
2100+ killed enemies (counted from xp)
more than 200 ”headshots”
4 different methods of doing this
hundreds of glitches
70 fucking million ”plough yourself” ”scurvy mutant” ”gonna kill ye”
etc.
i can safely say, out of 1k trophies , this is the bronze one that made me
want to gouge my eyes out … Also the people who designed the hit
detection , the trophy and the crossbow in general should collectively sit
on a cactus .

Do you also have to do this on nonhumans?

i noticed that screen shakes everytime when final shot is crit. i notice
that cuz i used thunderbolt potion which makes crit 100% and i did final
shot on body intentionally and screen shaked as well. so screen shaking is
not guaranteed at all. after that i believe headshot trigger is broken and
random.

Kept this trophy in mind and did headshots literally throughout the game,
looks like my headshot rate is not even 20% as I don’t notice the vibration
all that often. Oh boy, this gotta be the hardest trophy in the game. -.-
Well off to Devil’s Pit I guess. Cheers for the place!

Finally got platinum. The crossbow trophy took me 4 hours, it’s not
impossible, but it takes a lot of time.

Thanks for your help! Actually, I got it now. But the reason for me getting
it was because i changed my “feline crossbow” to regular “crossbow”. The
first headshot after i changed it popped the trophy. Maybe feline crossbow
prevent people from getting the trophy to pop? And I emailed CD Projekt Red
and they said the screen shake does not indicate headshot, only that the
finishing blow was critical hit.

A little trick you can use is that when the enemies got low health stun the
one u want to kill. He will stop moving and lean forward a bit, witch make
it easy too head shot him if you shoot from the side.

I was trying to achieve this last night (PC patch 1.10) and the achievement
popped by a non-critical (screen shake) headshot kill.

OMG, It took me 3 separate attempts (and 100+ headshots apiece) over the
course of several months before I finally got this (and my long overdue
platinum) just a few days ago. Not only do you have to hit the target’s
head and score a crit, but the convoluted programming has to actually
register that hit a head shot, and not just a crit to some other part of
the target’s hitbox, and therein lies the problem … whoever coded that
last part did a SHITTY job of it.

Tips:
* Save, and start a new dedicated save slot for this trophy.
* Respec with a potion of clearance, and max any/all abilities in the red
tree that slow time for the crossbow and boost critical chance. If you use
axii, dont take puppet, because it will prevent you from targeting critters
you control.
* Unequip special arrows and just use the plain jane infinite shot
defaults, but upgrade your crossbow to the ursine one.
* Turn difficulty down to lowest or next to lowest, to reduce the hit
points of your targets.
* Lure a wave of 3-4 soldiers to the gate of devil’s pit, then get close
and hit them ONCE with Igni to wipe our about 1/2 to 2/3 of their
hitpoints. Then, you only need 1-2 shots per target to rack up headshot
candidates. Aim at the TOP of the head, and avoid any upraised arms and
weapons. If you score a head crit and the screen shakes, figure that’s
about 1/3 or 1/4th of a headshot (plan on doing at least 150-200 to
accomplish the 50 stated for the trophy).
* Rinse and repeat until devil’s pit is empty.
* Fast travel to vizima, then fast travel back to devil’s pit, and then
meditate for 24 hrs.
* Rinse and repeat.
* When the marksman and plat finally go ding, go buy another potion of
clearance, then reset all your skills to what they were before your
attempt.
