Hi everybody! I’m Jan Klose, Creative Director here at Deck13. Our hardcore Action-RPG The Surge releases soon, coming 16 May 2017 for PlayStation 4.
Today I’m excited to show off our Target, Loot and Equip trailer, which highlights The Surge’s limb-slicing loot system in all its bloody, brutal glory. The Surge’s combat system lets you target enemies’ specific body parts, before damaging them. The resulting dismembered part then determines what piece of equipment is looted. This might be the schematic for the sliced armor part, salvaged materials for crafting the corresponding piece, or even the weapon wielded by the enemy!
When approaching an enemy, you face a difficult decision: do you target an unarmored body part for a shorter fight, or risk a lengthier, damaging battle for a chance at slicing off a shiny new piece of equipment? Balancing risk and reward is core to succeeding in The Surge, but we’ve ensured that bold players will be rewarded well!
The Surge releases May 16, and is available to pre-order now on PlayStation 4 ! If you want to read up on more info, check out our official website: http://www.thesurge-game.com/

ReplyI hope the music is in-game !!!
ReplyNo guns in the future?
Replysorry but, this system will never work… every player ever will just go for the best piece of an enemies gear, every time.
unless you put a strict time limit or a global race of some kind to push people towards the alternative.
ReplyThe more I see of this game, the less interesting it keeps getting. It just gives off a very generic vibe. Dude in a mech suit ripping off other dudes body part off.. with blood effects! Oh boy! lol
