I liked the original’s art style. Whyd they change it?

it’s like this is what nidhogg was supposed to look like when the
developers didn’t have money. now that they have money, they made the game
the wanted, and it looks worse because of it.

Wtf? the art style went from minimalist sprites to Hillary supporters.

I only love these types of games cause there fun and easy to play whilst
drunk. Metal Gear and Dark Souls is a little too intense when pretty
wasted.

The minimalist paint-like art style was part of why people enjoyed this

While those characters do look really strange. I enjoy the core gameplay.
And THAT is what matters in a game. Graphics are again taking the back
seat.

Why so many dislikes? This was one of the best local multiplayer games
this/last year

Seems much more violent now that they have faces… btw, if there’s no
giant worm at the end of the stages, we riot.

Interesting decision to change the art style so much (imagine that’s why
the downvotes) but I don’t think it looks bad actually. Maybe the noses are
a bit distracting… but the animation and “gamefeel” looks just as amazing
as ever (though obviously it’ll depend on controls / latency). Looking
forward to it!

Artstyle is completly ruined

This art style is horrible, if they not changing that, they don’t need to
wonder if absolute nobody buys it.

the core mechanics of a game like nidhogg are meant to be minimal, so of
course a second release is gonna have a little bit of a beefed up art
style. personally i think it looks cool regardless.

Are we stuck with those characters or can we switch back to the original
ones. I don’t like how they have a nose mouth eyes and eyebrows. The
nipples are cool tho

I’ll never understand why they just didn’t make all these 2D Side Scrolling
games Vita Exclusive. The all look like mobile/hand-held games anyway and
it would’ve gave people a reason to need a Vita.

why..

I have been playing niddhog for awile now with my friends. it’s great fun
and matches can last for ever with great fast action. this looks slow and
the art style draws me away. I say keep original style and just add more of
a multiplayer like a death match. or kinda like smash bros.

Why do the characters look like Homer Simpson?

Never played Nidhogg. But… i still can’t get over how much they changed
the style. And why do have games nowadays to be so goofy artsy?

nidhogg was fun to me it’s too bad no one likes this game everytime I’m on
my vita trying to play someone I never get anyone online

My friends and I reeeealllllyyyy love Nidhogg but maaaaaaan the sequel
looks ugly as sin.

original looked cheap, but those characters had grace and elegance while
moving and using weaponry such as rapier, for instance.
those guys look like they would have serious difficulties with solving
shape sorting puzzle

Please make a “classic” mode, where it looks like the 1º game.
