Introducing Fantasy Strike, a deceptively simple fighting game for everyone.
http://www.fantasystrike.com
The Fantasy Strike team is lead by David Sirlin, an ex-Street Fighter dev. The game emphasizes controls so simple that even non-fighting gamers can play, yet is still appropriate as a competitive e-sport. The characters are from Sirlin’s card games such as Yomi and Puzzle Strike, finally come to life in fighting game form.
This video shows early, pre-alpha footage and is not representative of final graphics quality.

Looks terrible
ReplyI got excited until card game appears
Replygovno
ReplyThis game looks great.
-No one ever.
Replystill better than street fighter 5…
ReplyI’m a complete scrub at fighting games but I refuse to let a game play for
Replyme, those 0 button throws are absolute trash.
“a new era of fighting games” ahhann… um caralho que vai
Replywe need a PlayStation All Stars 2
ReplyThis is a good joke, i`ll tell it at the coffee machine tomorrow.
Replyit looks dumb
ReplyYomi which is the Japanese word for reading the mind of the opponent.
insert laughter
ReplyLooking forward to play this in my ps2
ReplyPeople need to actually do their research and go to the website to see what
Replythe game is really trying to offer rather than watching the trailer and
then deciding to point out whats already obvious. It has potential.
I thought this was a king of fighters thing, looks fun tho
ReplyI hope this game succeeds so much! Very bold design choices! I love it!
ReplyI think the girl with the bow is the only character design in this that
Replyisn’t making me cringe. Then again since this is “pre-alpha” it might be
that she is further along in development than the other characters which…
a few look like a highschooler made them.
Soul caliber 6 ?
Reply*NEW ERA OF FIGHTING GAMES!!!!*
ReplyIt’s literally Chinese bootleg Street Fighter…
Anyone else here reminded of Rising Thunder?
ReplyThis looks like something that would be played in Saturday Morning
ReplyScrublords.
This game looks like cancer. Is this a joke?
ReplyI don’t know why, But this reminded me alot of Battleborn’s look.
ReplyIf this game does what Rising Thunder did for fighting games, I’ll give it
Replya chance.
Disgusting, low poly graphic, bad character design (what is that guy, a
Replycopy of Mitsurugi?, i think devs inspired by street fighter but… this is
not SF. I don’t like this slow fighting system. Really this game is for
PS4?
looks good for Kids or Casuals
ReplyLooks cool and interesting. I’d like to try it.
Replylol. took em long enough to make this. lookup Yomi people.
ReplyTaiwanese bootleg of World Heroes 2.
ReplyLOL 0:27.
USFIV E.Ryu U2 Ender.
ReplyWaaaah! I can’t input a QCF-P!
Replylooks good not worth 60 bucks simple. F2P AND the game play is slow paced
Replytoo. F2P thanks.
F2P thanks.
ReplyI guess KOF14 got a semi pass on its graphics engine since the characters
Replyare so iconic. hope things go well cause this is another great take on
keeping players interested in fighting games who arent fond of remembering
long command lists, or grinding out multi Max Mode combos/setups/long anime
BnB combos. its a start like Rising Thunder, cause even though i love the
satisfying feeling of doing execution heavy stuff in bracket after
practicing the maneuvers for hours in training mode(heart
Valkenhayn/Chipp), not everyone does. Sad, but i know the traditional
arcade fighting genre wont fall like the classic beat em up because of the
mental layers of depth it has. its called the hardest genre to get into for
a reason, but it pays the most dividends in terms of gameplay value and
satisfaction. good luck Sirlin. Use the haters to your advantage.
awesome Im gonna main the character with dem best keep away game lol
ReplyAs a fighting game enthusiast… I am giving this a thumb down… let’s all
ReplyGuilty Gear instead ;)
I’m alright…
ReplyI know it’s currently pre-alpha or whatever, but this just looks painfully
Replyslow.
is it free? xD i hate simple fighting games but I would try it to get bored
Replyreally really fast!
…. I’ll just wait for the next Tekken game. Thanks.
Replylooks generic and averageish
ReplyIs it coming out on console
ReplyI always get scared when they say easiest to play fighting game
ReplyInteresting…
Replymore complete than SFV
Replyso is this IOS or android exclusive or playable on both?
Replydavid sirlin is a hack
ReplyDisney Infinity Fighting Plus for the ps4 pro
ReplyI lol’ed.
ReplyNew era of fighting games? Let’s not exaggerate, right?
ReplyIt says (Easyest to play fighting game)- it’s for newcomers then to the
Replyfighting game genre and its a good thing. Maybe this will be their intro
game into better fighting games like Tekken 7 which is right around the
corner or maybe they will get into SF or DOA
So it’s still pre-alpha footage. Not that interested, but I’ll wait on my
Replyjudgement until more footage is released.
I like it! 😀
Replyexcept for the Generic af title.
Single button specials…….. yeah that will really appeal to the e-sports
Replyscene :/
why do the hits feel so flaccid and weak
Replyso…….ryu cammy and gief?
ReplyAll footage is work in progress, right ?
Reply*facepalm*
ReplyOh hey it’s Sirlin.
ReplyI remember this guy. He’s terrible. Don’t buy Sirlin products.
it seem pretty decent. Maybe kids might like it, cause they need something
Replynew.
nah bruh
Replysamurai shodown ps4
ReplySo, the thunder guy super is Evil Ryu’s ultra II in SFIV? ok..
Replyby unity 3d
ReplyRYUU GA WAGA TEKI NO PLAGIARISM
ReplyThis looks incredibly early, but conceptually speaking it looks
Replyinteresting. I mean I wouldn’t buy in the way it is now, but in time when
it starts looking more presentable like a modern Fighter should be, I
wouldn’t mind giving it a chance. But for now I’ll stick with other
fighters.
Real nextgan, thanks for “game” Sony
ReplyI see that you still have some work to polish it since this is only
Replypre-alpha, but I like the concept of focusing on the strategy of fighting
and how/when you attack instead of the repetition of mastering combos and
split second timing. I love me some Street Fighter but I’m open to trying
this out for the PS4.
Cool, Yeah it’s not a big time AAA fighting game, but it’s cool to see up
Replyand coming devs want to do fighting games. Maybe somewhere down the line,
they’ll get as good as the big studios. We all have to start at the
bottom somewhere. Most of the dislikes just comes from children, who just
want good stuff without knowing details.
So many dislikes
Reply“A new era of fighting games”, oh man, if I had a million bucks for every
Replytime I heard that one.
Looks like they are taking the Naruto storm approach with the controls and
Replysimplicity lol
While ‘easy to learn and hard to master’ is totally a thing, I doubt
Replycalling your game the easiest to play and then trying to pander to the
competitive scene too is a recipe for success.
This new era of fighting games looks like a bad college student’s mid term
Replyproject.
you crazy for this one Sirlin!
ReplyLooks awful…
ReplyWhen the main trailer looks like this, and barely showing any gameplay
whatsoever (assuming that even WAS gameplay), dont buy
What is this!! Killer Instinct and Street Fighter hade a baby = Fantasy
ReplyStrike. If this game is free I perfectly fine and it looks interesting but
if it cost money then its not worth it!
There better be females with breast physics
ReplyPS2 have game in 2016? wow
ReplyIs this KOF XIV patch?
Replydude with the sword copied evil ryu`s ultra finish in s.f 4
ReplyWhen’s Guilty Gear?
ReplyFinal Fantasy Strike
ReplyEasy games designed specifically to be easy need to DIE. Go play a real
Replyfighting game.
See you in TEKKEN 7 online. Bye now.
I keep thinking it says “Final Fantasy Strike”
ReplyA 2D Final Fantasy fighting game would rule.
you guys are kidding right
Replyyeah graphics are kinda mobile games-ish but il give it a shot.
ReplyI smell microtransactions
Replyessa merda tem q ser gratis. n eh um jogo bom.
ReplyOh look…. Hanzo with a sword
Replysteam plz :]
ReplyI’m not sure if this is the “new era of fighting games”, since it just
Replylooks like another 2D fighter. Then again it is pre-alpha footage so I
won’t say anything. Aside from the title sounding like a mobile game.
fighting game for babypants retards who cant do a fireball. gg.
Replyto me not so good,sorry
ReplyLooks pretty alright overall, Don’t know for sure ’till I play it though!
