With the exception of two trophies, all the trophies are random things or tasks you can do within each level. None of the trophies are missable and you can go back and play each section in Freeplay if you miss one. If you reach a spot where you need to do something for a trophy requirement and fail to achieve it, you should immediately restart checkpoint.

- Smokey the Dad

Trickshot-gun Wedding
Throw the ring onto Scarlet’s finger from a distance.
You can get this in the first chapter, “Wedding Bells” and at the same time as The Best Man trophy. You need to get the ring from the box just to the right of the alter. You need to throw the ring onto your bride to be instead of placing it on her hand naturally. In order to do this, you’ll need to stand far enough away that when you reach forward you don’t manually place the ring on her finger. To throw the ring, use the left stick and pull in back and push it forward and press to release it. It’ll take a small movement without much force. This may take many attempts to get the ring to land on her finger. I recommend watching the video to get an idea of how close you can get before it’s to close
The Best Man
Get married with the best man on the altar.
At the beginning of the second chapter, “Home, Sweet Home,” you will need to get make coffee, bring milk to Stacy and then grab your cup of coffee before needing to head to the backyard. At some point before heading outside, grab the burning log in the fireplace in the kitchen and place it in the sink.
Once you are in the backyard in “Home, Sweet Home,” you will be tasked with some chores. One of them will to be pull the weeds in the garden. You must pull all 6 of them without stepping on any of the flowers. This is much trickier than it appears because even if you are standing on the stone path in the garden, Octodad will waver back and forth and can ruin the flowers. I recommend not reaching far into the garden from the stone path and get close before reaching for the weeds.
After finishing all the backyard chores in “Home, Sweet Home,” you will be given one last one. That is to re-hang the birdhouse. If you hang the birdhouse normally, you will not be sucked into the mower. For this trophy, you need to throw the birdhouse on the hook from a distance. This one will take several trial and error attempts but once you throw the birdhouse on the hook, you will get the trophy.
The Cereal box in in the center aisle of the third level called “Gervason’s Grocery,” However, if you go down the center aisle a cut-scene will occur and the lady shopper will grab it. To grab it before her, you need to go down the left aisle (frozen food section) and climb up to the top of the shelves and reach over and grab the box without stepping into the center aisle.
This is also earned during the “Gervason’s Grocery” level. You simply need to grab one grocery item and put it in all the shoppers carts. There are a couple that will path, so if you stand in front of them it will stop their movement allowing you time to place an item in the cart. You also need to do it with the cereal lady in the center aisle. Since her cart has items in it, grab something small. I found that placing a large item on top of everything didn’t trigger the trophy right away.
No Cutsies
We have rules for a reason.
As soon as you start the “Aquatic Fun Center” level, you will get a coupon from Scarlet and need to take it to the ticket booth. There is a roped off line with some people in it. You simply need to enter the line and wait for all the people ahead of you to get their ticket first. You will fail this if you knock over the line in any major way that interferes with the patrons in line. It’s ok to lightly knock something, but if one of the people in line say something, you will need to restart. You can just hang back and wait for everyone to leave and then you won’t have to worry about cutting in line.
This is in the “World of Kelp” level inside the Aquatic Fun Center. You need to do some kelp related mini games and in the final section, you will need to control an otter and block the kelp coming at you (think soccer goalie). After that is over, simply grab the head of the otter you were controlling and put in on yourself.
In the “Amazon Arcade” area of the Aquatic Fun Center, you will need to get 7 prizes for Scarlet. After you complete that, there will be a crack in a nearby tank. Before going to it, grab a basketball from the basketball game in the games area and use that to block the hole.
This is as soon as you enter “The Deep Sea” level. You will have a dancing mini game where you simply need to step on each of the squares before the timer runs out. You will need to be quick as multiple ones will start appearing after a bit. Having mastered the control of Octodad’s legs will make this easier. Just make sure to keep alternating your tentacle legs. You do not have to fully stand on each square, you just need to touch each one with a leg.
After acquiring the shake lantern in “The Deep Sea”, you will eventually come up to a biologist with a flash light at the bottom of an escalator and are instructed to give the lantern to Stacy. Before doing so, there is a dark area at the end of the hall from which you just came from. Shine the light all over this area to reveal the jellyfish collection and the trophy.
This is much more difficult than it sounds. There are two sets of escalators and the end of “The Deep Sea” level and naturally, they are heading the wrong way. You need to quickly climb up two sets of them and hit the button at the top of each one. The second set is a much quicker moving escalator and you will need to have a good rhythm and control of Octodad. Make very long, but quick alternating steps. Make sure to keep alternating your feet because it gets tough to keep track off. This may require some practice.
In the “Sea Legs” chapter, you just simply need to grab five fish laying around and throw them overboard. There will be enough in the first area, but if for some reason the trophy doesn’t pop, there are plenty more around the ship.
You will need to go into the Captains Quarters and put on his uniform during the Sea Legs level. After doing that, before heading to the front of the ship, head back and talk to the crew where you swabbed the deck and raised the anchor. There will be four crewman here. Make sure to initiate a conversation that addresses you directly, and not a side conversation between two of them. After you have visited with each of them, you will need to walk across the beam and talk to the guy you stole the coffee from in the previous section.
You can do that easily by first jumping over the balcony and walk past the first pathing guard when his back is turned. The next one has a nearby chain tied to a crate that you can pull the chain and move the box in front of the guy. You may want to mop up the water on the floor first. After that, just wait until the one near the stairs has his back turned and just make a run for it.
Alternatively, if you play this on easy difficulty, you can just run past everyone without much worry of being spotted.
Note Between the two sections that are part of the requirement for this trophy will be a break room where you will want to earn Poor Workplace Etiquette.
- The stove – Place food on a burner and turn on the burner. If you see it start smoking (assuming it’s not your tentacle burning), you’ve done it correctly
- The portable counter top grill – Open it up and place food on it. Again, watch out for your tentacle, that doesn’t count.
- The microwave – Open it up and put food in there and then close the door.
Once you’ve done these three things, you will earn the trophy.
This is during the final level in the game, “Hot Concessions,” at the final section with the Chef. You need to place the fish heads Scarlet throws at you on each of the three fountain spouts. You’re suppose to pick them up yourself and plug it, but in order to have Scarlet do it, you will need to stand right in front of each of the spouts while keeping it between you and Scarlet. Stand about 3-5 feet back from the spouts. Each of the fish head plugs that she’s throws will end up plugging the fountain if you’re in the right spot. Do that for each of the three.
