Never played this one. Worth it? The latest one was a huge disappointment.

I actually really liked the game but I don’t really see a reason to buy it a 2nd time even for the remastering.

Back when Laura Bailey was popular in Japanese games. Now that she’s well known from recent Western games especially Naughty Dog games, I guess she won’t anymore.

Bad game, don’t waste your money. Get Star Ocean: The Second Story (or Second Evolution) and forget the rest lf the series exists. Fans will argue but every game found its way into some impressionable kids’ hands. If you don’t have the nostalgia, save your money and get the game that justified 3 failed attempts to follow it up: Star Ocean 2, or just get a remaster of a good game like Zodiac Age.

I’ve got the PS3 International version but I never got a chance in playing. But now with this remaster coming out I have a chance! Can’t wait to start pretty soon!

I enjoyed the game for what it was. I won’t mind replaying this at some point.

People hate this game? I hate SO3 way more. Every piece of gameplay felt like the developers were desperately trying to eke out rushed gameplay to delay the ending.

Star Ocean 1 (Super Famicom) and Star Ocean 2 (PS1) are still the best in the series, in my opinion.

Okay but what about a remaster of Infinite Undiscovery???

My three main problems with series is 1 the aliens are just humans in cosplay gear. 2 the balance of scifi and fantasy is leans heavily towards fantasy. 3 the writing is not engaging character setting or plot wise.

I guess is not too bad, but… the fact is that this game is too final fantasy based!!! I don’t hate final fantasy, but in my opinion a space game needs to be well thought than this!!!

I’m not a StarOcean fan (More like a SMT fan), but I played SO4 in the Xbox360 and was quite good. SO5 for PS4 sucked ballz, but I kinda liked the SO4 (I’ll probaly buy it). 😀

All I remember about this game is girl characters getting anger about me assigning them to sleep in my room only to be like “Ok *blush*” after hitting the button 4 times, booyah Capt. Kirk. 1950 America for some reason? A Final boss that wasn’t hard but insanely long because of its heath bar. Nappy time?! O_o

I still have this for 360 and i beat it and it was ok it was not as good as Star ocean till the end of time. And star 5 was pretty good. but this game Star 4 was a lost hope but that what i think

I can’t believe they are rereleasing this game. It was god-awful. I’m not even going to bring up the god-awful voice acting. Edge makes a supercomputer laugh. Faze becomes rage incarnate when some random NPC’s get killed and he didn’t even know their names. Myuria says she’s looking for Edge’s friend Crow and she is going to kill him when she finds him. And he lets her on board. And when Crow does show up, he doesn’t even warn him about her before she attacks.
Oops, we went back in time. Some secret human government agency captures the ship and the crew and begs them for technology to save the earth from stagnation. So they give the all-important crystal from the drive core which immediately causes an explosion to destroy the entire earth. Edge says “They’re going to overload it no doubt” And their human captors say “We are the brightest minds of the century. We know better than you people from the future who obviously know about the technology more intimately than we ever could.” So they need to get off world before it blows but they can’t because they gave their crystal away. But some random half naked loli catgirl they found in the base JUST HAPPENS TO CARRY A SPARE CRYSTAL AROUND HER NECK!!! One that optimizes perfectly with their ship. Oh, and in case you missed that part earlier, that catgirl was ALREADY IN THE BASE and the super secret government agency with the “brightest minds of the century” were so keen on checking out the drive core crystal but not her’s. And when the earth does blow up, how are we going to reconcile the fact that humanity doesn’t exist anymore and that Edge and crew could have never been born? It must have been an earth from ANOTHER DIMENSION! God, this game is so stupid! There is no way they can recover from something like this.

At last I was just thinking of playing this Star Ocean: The Last Hope game on my PlayStation 3 just only yesterday…. Note: & Even though that’s the bad worst version of that very game… But I would just for old times sake when I use to own a XBOX 360 version years ago before I give it away.. & Still not have beaten it yet either at the time… Or to see if they had a updated version instead on the PS3 by now by some blue bird of luck.. :/ &……. &…. Then… THEN… BOOM! I SEE IT ON MY EMAIL & MY WISH IS GRANTED IN FULL!!!! *FOR PS4!!!!!!!!!!* NOW THIS IS ALL IN MY MIND & ITS ALL I WANT TO PLAY!!!!!!! Life has giving me a second chance!! To beat this game before “WWIII” Oh I mean this game is based on after WWIII, as soon as you play it! Yeah that’s what I mean… >_< As soon as I get money by next payday, of next week....
